Rich in texture and intricate detail, this wood stool from the Grassfields of Cameroon, Africa is carved from a single piece of wood. Rows of openwork rings surround the base, while the round top is decorated with inlaid coins and creamy cowrie shells arranged in a radiating pattern. The dark wood provides a striking backdrop for the shells and warm metallic tones, inviting a closer look at its craftsmanship.
Used as a stool or an occasional side table, this distinctive piece brings warmth, character and artistry to a favorite corner.
