This set of four prints are all from the botany book titled "Traité des Arbres Fruitier", by Henri-Louis Duhamel du Monceau, which was published in 1768. Henri Duhamel du Monceau (1700 - 1782) was a justifiably celebrated Parisian physician, naval engineer and botanist who settled near the French Botanical Gardens. He cultivated trees on his own estates, authored a number of important books on topics as diverse as agronomy, marine architecture, and ichthyology, and was a member of all the important scientific academies.

The prints from his book (designed by Magdeleine-Francoise Basseporte, Aubriet, and others and engraved by Catherine Haussard, P. L. Cor, Henriquez Herisset fils, Menil, Charles Milsan, Poletnich, and others) were among the most beautiful botanical engravings of the period.

Our set of four include: the Abricot de Nancy, Gros Faros, Cerise-Guigne and Ecarlate de Bath. They are newly framed and each measures 14" W x 16.25"H x .5" D and will make a great addition to any wall.
